Background of the project
The Advancing Climate Smart Aquaculture Technologies (ACliSAT) is a three-year project (extended for additional one year) funded by IFAD and led by WorldFish. ACLiSAT aims to achieve economically vibrant and climate smart sustainable increase in fish production and productivity for food security, nutrition, income generation and livelihood improvement in the three countries (Egypt, Eritrea and Ethiopia). The project partners in the three countries are; The Central Laboratory for Aquaculture Research (in Egypt); the Ministry of Marine Recourses (MMR) (in Eritrea); School of Fisheries and Wildlife at Bahir Dar University (BDU) (in Ethiopia). The climate smart culture system tested through the project includes; the In Pond Raceway System (IPRS); the Integrated Aquaculture-Agriculture practices (IAA) in open area; the Aquaponic; and small scale cages.

It is recognized that a proper scaling strategy and action plan is required to achieve the project impact. Thus, WorldFish intends to hire a consultant to identify opportunities and design the scaling up work activities to be implemented built on the interventions of ACliSAT and FReMP projects in Eritrea during the last period. The consultant will work in coordination with project focal in MMR. Specific objectives of the study are as follows:
